Job Description
As a Purchasing Officer, you will be responsible for managing the procurement process, ensuring timely and cost-effective acquisition of materials and supplies required for production and operations. You will work closely with suppliers, internal teams, and vendors to maintain inventory levels and optimize the purchasing strategy.
Key Responsibilities
Source and negotiate with suppliers for competitive pricing and best quality raw materials, food and packaging, and other supplies.
Monitor inventory levels to ensure sufficient stock is available to meet production needs.
Prepare and process purchase orders, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies.
Maintain relationships with suppliers and resolve any issues related to delivery, quality, or pricing.
Coordinate with the warehouse and operations teams to ensure smooth order fulfillment and timely delivery.
Track and analyze purchasing trends to identify cost-saving opportunities.
Ensure all procurement activities comply with regulatory standards, including food safety and quality regulations.
Assist in the preparation of reports and documentation related to purchasing activities.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in business administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
Proven experience in purchasing or procurement, preferably within the Food and Beverages industry is a MUST.
Strong negotiation skills with a solid understanding of cost analysis and pricing strategies.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
Knowledge of inventory management and procurement software is a plus.
Attention to detail and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to guide the warehouse team with minimal supervision.
