Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced “NOC Shift In-Charge” to join our dynamic team. This pivotal role is responsible for leading the shift team to ensure uninterrupted network operations, proactive monitoring, fault management, escalation handling, and coordination with internal and external stakeholders. The role ensures high service availability and compliance with SLA targets for B. Online backbone and customer services.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and supervise NOC engineers during assigned shifts.
Ensure real-time monitoring of backbone, transmission, access, and customer networks.
Manage incidents, escalations, and ensure timely resolution within SLA.
Review shift handover logs and ensure proper communication between shifts.
Maintain up-to-date status boards, tickets, and incident reports.
Identify and diagnose network faults quickly.
Coordinate with Internal teams, vendors, and upstream providers for issue resolution.
Ensure root cause analysis (RCA) is prepared for major incidents.
Track recurring issues and suggest preventive measures.
Act as the first escalation point during the shift.
Ensure timely customer and management updates during critical incidents.
Escalate unresolved or high-impact issues to higher levels as per defined procedures.
Maintain clear and professional communication.
Monitor link performance, latency, packet loss, and uptime reports.
Ensure compliance with SLA for enterprise and backbone customers.
Generate daily and shift reports summarizing network health, incidents, and activities.
Guide and mentor NOC engineers in troubleshooting and escalation processes.
Promote adherence to NOC standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Evaluate team performance and recommend improvements.
Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer/Telecom/ or related field.
3 to 5 years of experience in NOC operations in an ISP or telecom environment.
Minimum 1 to 2 years in a supervisory or shift-lead role.
Strong technical knowledge of IP networking and Security
Experience with network monitoring tools
Industry certifications, minimum Cisco CCNP, Fortinet NSE4 , Juniper is preferred
Familiarity with ticketing tools
Excellent communication, coordination, and leadership skills.
Ability to remain calm and decisive during high-pressure incidents.
Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
