Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role for an Officer- Import & Export located in Ahmadi. The Officer will be responsible for managing the company's import and export processes, preparing export documentation, and ensuring compliance with international trade regulations.
Responsibilities
Handle day-to-day import and export shipments.
Track urgent freight and ensure smooth customs clearance.
Prepare and verify shipping documents while ensuring compliance.
Coordinate with suppliers, freight forwarders, and warehouses.
Monitor deliveries from port/airport to final destination.
Liaise with vendors, customers, and freight forwarders regarding shipment and delivery status.
Ensure shipments are arranged at competitive rates.
Manage container bookings and prepare pre-shipment documentation.
Conduct customs clearance with relevant authorities.
Manage shipments and ensure delivery within agreed lead times.
Educations & Skills
Bachelorโs degree (logistics/shipping certifications preferred)
3โ5 yearsโ experience in Freight Forwarding, Logistics, or Customs
Proficiency in MS Office, ERP & reporting tools
Strong organizational, reporting & multitasking skills
Flexibility to work under pressure, with occasional travel & non-standard hours
Knowledge of international trade regulations, customs laws, and compliance requirements.
Strong negotiation skills to secure competitive freight rates.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. Bilingual (Arabic & English) preferred
Ability to work independently as well as in a team under high-pressure situations
