Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced ESP Technician to support installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, and maintenance of Electrical Submersible Pump (ESP) systems at Oil & Gas project sites. The ideal candidate must have strong field experience in artificial lift systems and a solid understanding of electrical and mechanical components while strictly following safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
-Install, assemble, and commission ESP systems (pump, motor, seal section, MLE, cable, and surface equipment)
-Supervise and support rig-up and rig-down activities during well intervention
-Conduct pre-installation inspection of ESP equipment before deployment
-Perform cable splicing, insulation testing, megger testing, and phase balance checks
-Troubleshoot ESP failures including motor issues, cable damage, gas lock, and pump wear
-Diagnose underload/overload conditions and amperage fluctuations
-Monitor well parameters such as voltage, current, intake/discharge pressure, and temperature
-Troubleshoot Variable Speed Drives (VSD) and surface control panels
-Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance activities
-Support shutdown activities and pulling operations when required
-Maintain proper storage and preservation of ESP equipment at site/warehouse
-Coordinate with Production Engineers for performance optimization
-Maintain maintenance logs, service reports, and equipment history records
-Ensure compliance with HSE policies, permit-to-work system, and client safety standards
-Attend toolbox talks and follow all electrical safety procedures when handling high-voltage systems
-Guide and supervise helpers and junior technicians when required
Required Skills & Qualifications:
-Diploma or Bachelorβs Degree in Electrical / Mechanical Engineering or related field
-Minimum 5β8 years of experience in ESP operations within Oil & Gas industry
-Strong knowledge of artificial lift systems and ESP components
-Experience in VSD systems and electrical troubleshooting
-Ability to read electrical schematics and technical drawings
-Physically fit and able to work in field conditions
